Due to it’s high bluffs and unobstructed views to the ocean this area was originally called "Kwomais" by the First Nations which means place of vision. Ocean Park has a business and shopping centre. 1001 Steps Park near Camp Kwomais, has stairs to waterfront walks and nature trails. Ocean Park has regular commuter bus service to Vancouver.
